Something A Little Different For The Grands

Just wanted to say good afternoon to everyone out there and especially grand parents and grandparents raising grand kids.

I am here touching base and letting everyone know I am going to be doing something a little different with my blog. Of course I am still going to be posting educational stuff and so forth but every couple of days I’m just going to post a generic post. It’s not really going to be directed at anything or anyone in particular. It’s just going to be a selection of my wisdom lol. Kind of like just a blog post to say hi and how the day is going.

I absolutely want people to get to know me a little better and I want them to understand that I am here for all the right reasons.

Every single day in this world more and more grandparents are stepping up to the plate and taking care of their grand kids. It may be from death, drugs or whatever reason. The fact of the matter is that it is happening. I am here today and plan on being here for a long time to come.

I am a grandparent raising a grandchild along with my beautiful wife. We have been raising him for around 6 years now and yes as much as we love him I do have to say life can be very difficult some days.

When I first started blogging I was taught to always help solve the problems of readers. By doing this my readership will grow and eventually the blog will be the go to place for every grandparent out there raising grand kids.

As this blog moves forward I will continue to post the educational posts but now also randomly I will be posting personal posts as well. I call myself Grampadale and I really want everyone to get to know me.

I really never thought something like this would go anywhere. However I have proven myself wrong because of the power of Social Media. Recently I started a Facebook group which is closed. I have over 700 members and it continues to grow. We have absolutely great members in this group and a great moderator. The group continues to grow.

In this group everyone can feel safe. It is a place where members can laugh, cry, vent, yell or just hang out. Either way there is never any judging. I will leave a link to the group at the bottom of this page. However remember if you are interested in joining the group there will be some questions to answer then either myself or my great moderator will decide to allow you in or not.

One other thing I will bring up real quick is I will be looking for guest bloggers. Feel free to let me know if you are interested. You can do this by leaving a comment below and I will get back to you. Also feel free to leave any questions or any other comments below and I assure you I will always get back to you.

I hope everyone has a great day and I look forward to hearing from anyone and everyone.

  1. Dale, I admire what you have started. It is my sanity, therapy and on bad days, I have friends that can understand what I am going through and help me stay sane. I think I speak for more than just me. Thank you for have the insight to do this. It makes me sad and angry that so many of us have changed the last years of our live to raise kids that we should be enjoying, but in a different way. And yet, the best thing that could happen to us. Good luck on your new adventure.

    • I guess we never see whats coming at us. The great part is there are great people to take on the challenges. Thank you for the kind words.

  2. We would like too .We are starting a Support group for Grandparents raising grandkids in Searcy Ar at our church

  3. It’s definitely hard when grandparents have to raise their grandkids. The age makes it harder to be more involved in their lives physically due to illness among other problems. But it’s a very good thing emotionally since the elderly are more likely to connect on a deeper level and devote time to the kids. thanks for your article!

    • Some days can prove to be very difficult but honestly most days are very rewarding.
